Chocolate Chip Cookies.. a little late!

So, like forever ago, Miss Aleta at Omnomicon hosted a little round robin to find the best chocolate chip cookie recipe.  Each tester got two recipes to try.  Though, lazily, I never sent my vote in, I favored this chocolate chip recipe above the other- by leaps and bounds!  The other cookie turned out so horribly that I am not at liberty to post a photo.  This is probably my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe ever.  Hands down.  There’s not much more I can say about it- everyone knows what it’s like to taste an amazing chocolate chip cookie.

Be sure to check out her Round Robin Roundup to find out who’s chocolate chip cookie recipe won!

Family Secret Chocolate Chip Cookies (Recipe K)
-makes 30 cookies (with each cookie coming out at about 108 calories)
1/4c plus 2 tbs sugar
1/2c brown sugar
1/2c butter, room temp.
1/2 tbs vanilla
1 egg, slightly beaten
1.5c flour
heaping 1/4 tsp baking soda
heaping 1/4 tsp salt
1.5c semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2c chopped nuts (I omitted these)
Preheat oven to 350.
in a large bowl, combine the sugars.  Add butter and cream with sugar.  Add vanilla and eggs, mix well.
In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking soda and salt.  Add dry to creamed mixture.  Mix well.  Add chocolate chips and nuts if you’re using them.
Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or silpats.  Drop dough in rounded tablespoons onto the cookie sheets.  Bake 101-2 minutes or until just browning at the edge.  Remove and cool on wire racks.

These cookies are so GOOD! I think you had the same two recipes as me! My other..after waiting forever…just turned out flat almost ran off the baking sheet…I figured I did something wrong so I made another batch…same outcome!
