I second the suggestion for West Egg Cafe – it was my faaaaaavorite. The Fried Green Tomato BLT makes me want to move back. 🙂

Every neighborhood has ’em. Here are some of my favorites – be prepared for a wait at all of them. I don’t eat pork so I am usually only selecting from 2/3 of the menu, but these all have really good options, and many are great for the vegetarian crowd too.

Murphys – in VaHi (Virginia Highland) neighborhood. It’s my local place & is very well known & loved. Amazing brunch on the weekends & a superb wine list

Ria’s Bluebird – iconic ATL in Grant Park across from Oakland cemetery. 45 minute wait is worth it. One of the best breakfasts in town, and lots of veg/soy options.

Delia’s Chicken & biscuits – ok so its a roadside stand on Moreland just past the I-20, but they have some seating outside, and it is WORTH IT!! great road trip food if you’re driving through on the 20! YUM! same chef as started Flying Biscuit, Delia Champion. those chicken biscuit breakfast sandwiches are divine.

Rise & Dine in Emory Village, yummy modern, fresh & savory deliciousness for breakfast & brunch. lots of veg options

Sun in my Belly in East Lake – also delicious & lots of unique options worth trying

Parish – Inman Park – great brunch on the weekends & excellent brunch cocktails

West Egg – its a excellent breakfast place on the Westside – reliably well made eggs, pancakes, etc. slightly more basic menu.

Stone Soup – little hole in the wall in Grant Park – excellent veggie /soy options. also do a great lunch here.

as i read this, I realize, I eat brunch out a lot!
🙂
hope anyopne who reads this enjoys these amazing places – Atlanta is a GREAT place to eat.

It’s our favorite weekend morning breakfast place. BF’s favorite dish is the Shrimp & Grits and I also have the cookbook. We’ve tried OK Cafe (nothing to write home about) and J. Christophers (3 strikes and they’re out). Can you recommend another GREAT breakfast place in the ATL area?

I can’t wait to try making grits on my own. We’ll have to try more places in Atlanta—can’t wait!

I love their crab cakes and they have a Bloody Mary Bar….
